About Treleaven Wines

Treleaven Wines (also known as Treleaven by King Ferry Winery) is a family-owned winery on the east side of Cayuga Lake, about 20 minutes north of Ithaca. Founders Pete and Tacie Saltonstall planted the vineyard in 1984 on a remaining parcel of the Saltonstall family farm, inspired by the idea of a small Burgundian family domaine, and released their first wines in 1988. What began as a 7.5-acre planting is now 27 acres of vines producing roughly 6,000 cases a year, making Treleaven the oldest winery on the lake's eastern shore.

Chardonnay has been the flagship since the beginning, with Riesling close behind, and the lineup runs from bone-dry to sweet, plus Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petite Sirah, a Meritage blend, sparkling Riesling and dessert-style wines. The estate is farmed with a sustainability focus (native cover crops, limited conventional inputs, hand harvesting) under vineyard manager Cyrus Parseghian, with winemaker Matt Denci guiding each vintage.

Second-generation siblings Lev and Hattie Saltonstall now run day-to-day operations and have reshaped the property into an all-ages destination. The Hangtime, an open-air pavilion that opened in 2016, hosts free live music, comedy and trivia from late May through October; the Barrel Room doubles as a winter dining and private-event space; and the on-site bistro, Farm in the Willows, serves New Americana with an Italian touch. Rotating local craft beer taps, lawn games and a welcome for dogs (May through October) round out the visit.

Farm in the Willows (New Americana with an Italian touch)

Treleaven's on-site bistro, led by Executive Chef Manuel Reynoso, pairs New Americana cooking with an Italian accent to the estate wines and local craft beer. In the warmer months food service runs outdoors at The Hangtime; in winter the restaurant moves into the string-lit Barrel Room among the oak barrels and bottling line. Weekly programming includes Thursday cellar-bar small plates and flights, Friday fish fry plus evening trivia, Saturday acoustic music on the Barrel Room stage, and Sunday brunch with bingo. Menu ordering is handled through a Square Online storefront and table reservations through OpenTable.

The Hangtime

Treleaven's open-air seasonal pavilion and backyard, opened in 2016. From late May through October it hosts free main-stage live music, comedy shows and trivia, with lawn space for blankets, cornhole and the whole family (dogs included). Outdoor bistro dining and wine service run here in season.

The Barrel Room

The working barrel room converts into an intimate indoor venue in the off-season, with high-top tables, string lights, a small stage and the bottling line in view. It hosts winter dinners, acoustic music, trivia and bingo, and is rented for private parties and company events.

Weddings & Private Events

Indoor and outdoor venue options for weddings, welcome parties, corporate retreats and private dinners, coordinated by the winery's events team. Inquiries are handled via a Tripleseat request form (https://treleavenwinery.tripleseat.com/party_request/16923).
