About Miles Wine Cellars

Miles Wine Cellars is a family-owned winery on the western shore of Seneca Lake in Himrod, New York, at the heart of the Finger Lakes region. A labor of love since 1978, the estate's tasting room occupies a Greek Revival mansion dating to 1802, where more than two centuries of history — and a resident ghost story or two — accompany every pour. National Geographic Traveler called it the "most serenely gorgeous setting of any winery in the region."

The winery focuses on small-batch, handcrafted wines from its estate vineyards, including Riesling, Cabernet Franc, and the famous Ghost — a Chardonnay-Cayuga white blend honoring the mansion's legendary spirits, packaged in a distinctive silk-screened bottle. Tastings also span craft beer, cider, and spirits, and guests are welcome to carry a glass down to the lakeside dock and settle into an Adirondack chair at the water's edge.

Miles is one of the few boat-accessible wineries in the Finger Lakes, with a seasonal boathouse bar right on its Seneca Lake dock. The estate is also home to the two-room Inn at Miles Wine Cellars, a seasonal café, and outdoor weddings and special events, making it as much a lakeside destination as a tasting stop.

Haunted History of the 1802 Mansion
